Phoenix Park Biodiversity Festival & Honey Show

Friday 8th September - Sunday 10th September - 9AM - Free

Scheduled from 8th to 10th September 2023, the Phoenix Park Biodiversity Festival & Honey Show invites families to a festive experience, urging attendees to wear suitable outdoor attire. In collaboration with The Federation of Irish Beekeepers’ Association (FIBKA), the Honey Show will be held at the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre, offering an extensive range of honey and bee-related products for attendees.

Concurrently, visitors can partake in captivating lectures and guided tours during honey judging sessions. A comprehensive Programme of Events will be accessible from the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre as the festival nears.

Richmond Barracks Harvest Fair

Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th September - Free

On Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September, Richmond Barracks Harvest Fair opens its doors in Inchicore for a lively two-day event, laden with opportunities to eat, grow, and create. Attendees can participate in workshops, revel in entertainment, indulge in delectable food, and browse through a vast array of items offered by local vendors, including clothing, crafts, designs, and art.

Coinciding with the arrival of Autumn, the Fair spectacularly showcases the bountiful harvest, growth, and beauty of nature, offering a plethora of seasonal foods and craft stalls run by local entrepreneurs.

SwellFest

Mountjoy Square - Saturday 9th September - 12pm

This amazing event is all about celebrating sports and wellness in the community. Whether you're young or old, beginner or expert, there's something for everyone at SwellFest!

From 12PM to 6PM, you can enjoy a variety of activities, such as football, rugby, gymnastics, yoga, and more! You can also meet some of the stars of Dublin GAA Football, and learn from Olympian boxer Emmet Brennan.

SwellFest is not just a festival, it's a celebration of diversity, inclusion, and connection in our community. And most importantly, it's a chance to have a swell time!

Fingal Festival of Children’s Literature

Swords Castle - Saturday 9th September - 10am

The second annual Fingal Festival of Children’s Literature, hosted by Fingal Libraries, is set to convene at Swords Castle on Saturday, 9th September. This celebration of children’s literature teems with bestselling authors, skilled illustrators, undiscovered gems, and inspiring artists, providing an atmosphere limited only by one’s imagination.

Parallel to its affiliating libraries, the festival offers free entrance to all events. Attendees are encouraged to discover what's on offer at the Storytent, the Tall-Tales Tent, The Chapel, The Book Clinic, and The Creative Zone, noting which events require prior booking or allow walk-ins on the day. Swords Castle eagerly awaits the return of this magical story celebration.

The Girl Who Fell to Earth with Patricia Forde

Swords Castle - Saturday 9th September - 2.30pm

Immerse yourself in the broad expanse of the literary world with Patricia Forde, the newly-crowned Laureate na nÓg of Ireland, acclaimed for her valuable contributions to children's literature. The author of over 20 books in both English and Irish, Patricia introduces her latest work, The Girl Who Fell to Earth - a fascinating science fiction narrative that questions human existence and life on Earth.

This event calls for tickets to be secured solely for the children attending, sparing any necessity of tickets for accompanying parents. Intended for children aged 8 and above, every young attendee will receive a complimentary book.
