Here's the 5 coolest things happening this weekend in Dublin For Free 🌆

What’s the story in Dublin this week?

We’re fresh off the bat of another weekend! This weekend, I went to Slane Farm Hostel to pitch my brand new tent before we take it to Electric Picnic. There is nothing worse than arriving having never put up a tent before!

What was your favourite event of the weekend? Reply and let me know!

Camping out at a farm in Meath!

We’ve rounded up five cool things happening this week in Dublin for Free! The skies are filled in Bray this week with the Air Display on show this Saturday and Sunday. If you’re not looking to join the crowds, check out the family fun on North Earl Street this sunday!

This week we are covering solely Free events! We really love getting into the best cultural events and not just live music!

July 29th & 30th - 12pm - 6pm - FREE

The award-winning and hugely popular #BrayAirDisplay will make a welcome return for the summer of 2023. And it will be back bigger and better than ever with an incredible lineup

The free, family event is one of the most popular air shows in Europe and Ireland’s biggest air festival, attracting thousands to the Co. Wicklow seaside town to marvel at amazing aerobatics.

The Bray Air Display is the biggest public free event in Ireland. 2018 saw over 140,000 people attending the overall 2 days event. It also has the largest movement of the public on the Dart network outside of commuting.

Kicking off on Saturday, July 29th with ground entertainment from 12 noon daily followed by the airshow at 3 pm on both days. It’s 2 days of action & entertainment!

The Bray Air Show is back to the skies for 2023!

The general advice is to get public transport, so the train, bus or dart , which will have additional services. There is also a shuttle bus service to Brides Glen Luas stop which can be pre-booked. You can travel by car, but I would not recommend this as it will be chocker blocked and the air display are suggesting up to 2 hours of delays for cars.

Irish Defence Forces Open Day

Saturday July 29th - 11am - 5pm - Farmleigh House, Phoenix Park

The 2023 defence forces open day is on this Saturday in the Phoenix Park, and looks set to be a brilliant day out for the family. Showcasing some cool relics of the forces throughout the years of service.

The highlights include Vintage Vehicles, Weapons Display, Parachute Team Display, Unarmed Combat demonstations & a Band Recital from the Army No 1 Band to top off the action packed day.

There will also be informational stands for adventures, recruitment & Equitation (Horse Riding, I did have to Google this too!)

The Liberties Festival

The Liberties Festival is one of Ireland’s oldest festivals. From modest beginnings in 1970 it has grown to become a highlight of the summer in Dublin with a series of family-friendly, sporting and community events, and an exciting multi-cultural and arts programme. Events are happening all over The Liberties.

The Liberties is served by a number of bus routes and is easily accessible on foot and by bicycle. You only need to book tickets for two events: Build Your Own Air Quality Sensor , and Iveagh Trust Museum Flat’ tours & there are three events in this programme that do require payment. These are ‘Iveagh Trust Museum Flat’ Tour, Elvis By Candlelight and the Comedy Night.
