We’re fresh off the bat of another weekend! I had incredible fun at Damien Dempsey in the Iveagh Gardens, I dined before the gig in Row Wines on Coppinger Row! I was actually quite dissapointed with my meal there :(

We look at the free tours of the Alternative side to Dublin to the events for the little nippers in our lives, this week we are covering solely Free events! We really love getting into the best cultural events and not just live music!

Alternative Side to Dublin Tour

July 15th- 11am - FREE

Discover a different side to Dublin. And find out what is on the alternative side to Dublin!

Ever wonder... what's down there? Well now you can find out all the quirks to the alternative side to Dublin. On a free walking tour that checks out a chocolate factory, fruit market, hidden bar, time house, art gallery and many more unique places.

The tour starts beside The Ambassador Theatre at the top of O Connel Street. The guide will be at the front door from 10.58 to 11.10 before making the way to a chocolate factory!

As with many of the free tours, I like to leave the tour guide a tip as a kind gesture for the 2 hour walk around the side of Dublin you may not have seen before!

Red Stables Market & Rose Festival - St. Anne’s Park

Saturday July 14th - 10am - 4pm

With its free entry, incredible mix of food and crafts, and the chance to grab some unforgettable bread from Bread 41, Fresh Flowers from the florist stall, and fres this market is a must-visit destination for all enthusiasts of quality, taste, and artistic expression.

The Rose Festival 2023 is back in town on the grand weekend of the 15th and 16th of July. You wouldn't want to miss it for the world. This splendid celebration takes place at the magnificent St Anne's Park, where you'll find yourself surrounded by the most exquisite Rose Garden and delightful scenic walks.

This year’s festival is jam-packed with activities for the whole family with a whole host of things to see and do including live music and dancing. And if that ain't enough, you'll be spoiled for choice with the array of stalls selling plants, flowers, arts & crafts, and delicious grub. You won't leave with an empty stomach or empty hands, that's for sure.

Crash & Burn Comedy

July 13th - 7.30pm - Sin É - Free

Crash & Burn Comedy, a free stand up show on every Thursday in Sin É, is a great room to hear some jokes that no audience has heard before.

With resident hosts, Michael Sable and Nghia Mai, the show welcomes both seasoned veterans and up-and-coming acts to try out their jokes. Over the last year there have been some incredible names in the line up and you can check them all on their Instagram.

Easily the best deal in Dublin, so you have no excuses to not go out this Thursday. Like always to free events, you can reserve a spot here!

Bastille Day Ireland 2023 Celebration

July 14th - 12pm to Late - The Church Restaurant - Free

Join the French ambassador to Ireland in the celebrations of Bastille Day 2023. The programme runs over 10 days with free film screenings, online cookery classes, drawing competitions, quizzes and much more!

However on Friday, the largest French event in Ireland gets underway at the Church Restaurant on Jervis St. There will be French Pastis, French Wine, French Saucissons, French activities, French DJs, crĂŞpes stand, face painter and a Brass Band!

The Brass Band will have three separate performances at 4.30pm, 7.30pm, 9.30pm, so make sure your stay there will cover one of these!

Celebrate Summer Stars

Friday 14th - 2PM - DLR Lexicon Library - Free

Join Jackie Burke, author of the much-loved children’s fantasy series The Secrets of Grindlewood, for a lively interactive session as she talks about her inspirations and offers helpful tips to aspiring young writers!

This reading and talk is mostly suitable for children aged 8-10. However the DLR Lexicon has a number of events on over the summer for children keep an eye on their Facebook for more!
